God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though
the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Ten-Second Tom
My wife and I watched
50 First Dates the other night. I thought it was really great and funny too. Not the typical goofy Adam Sandler funny, but more like the "oh, wow, life really is funny like that" kind of funny. My favorite character has got to be "Ten-Second Tom." This guy's short term memory is so bad that he can only remember for ten seconds. In fact, he reminds me of most of the teenagers I know-- Every ten seconds equals a new emotion. I love you guys.
Rainy Days and Leis
My daughter is having her big, laua birthday party today. It will be inside since it's raining like hats and hogs outside. I still can't believe I'm old enough to have a five-year-old. Whoa! Time to roast the pig and do the limbo.
Back Off
Yes, I'm back from Montana. It was cold and rainy and beautiful and wonderful. The mountains are amazing, but the Blackfeet people are awesome. I am so glad that God gave me the chance to live and learn with them. Now a few other things.....it seems that while I was away some bad things happened on my blog. Shame on you and back off. This is not a place for you to rant and rave and have little spats with other readers. If you are not part of our youth group community, then you are only a visitor here. You are welcome to visit and read and follow along with what is happening in our community, but please do not leave comments (unless it is to apologize for your previously inappropriate comments.) If you are a visitor and have thoughts to share with me, please email me directly, rather than using the comments section to communicate. I'm sorry if that's not the kind of blog you're used to, but it's my blog and my rules. If you can't except it, than don't visit. I am trying to provide a relatively safe place for me and the students in our community to connect and interact, and some of you are not setting a very good example. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Let's move on. Have a nice day.
Brrrr
Just checked the
Weather and it looks like lots of rain, very cold temps and maybe even snow in Montana next week. So much for just taking a light jacket...I need a parka.
The Terminal
Well, I've made it safely home from my trip to Group Publishing in Loveland, CO and now I'm packing and getting ready to fly out to Northwest Montana with our high school group. I'm starting to feel a little bit like
Tom Hanks. Pray for our group next week as we spend time on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana. It should be quite an experience.
By the way, I am hosting the
Group Magazine Live one-day training in October. If you're in the Tulsa area, consider checking it out.
