Last Friday night my friend Shane and I spent the evening with the best band of all time and 20,000 new friends. We did what many people will only dream of doing. For over 2 hours we stood right in front of The Edge (guitar guru of U2.) Here's the review I posted on U2tours.com:

A truly amazing night. I thought I was going to pass out with anticipation after waiting in the GA line all day. I never expected to be so lucky as to see Vertigo! Vertigo! Vertigo! But when I did, I jumped and screamed. Standing right in front of the Edge was the best U2 concert experience I have ever had.

I thought this was a much tighter and entertaining performance from the boys than the show I saw back in May in Boston. I also thought the Houston crowd was full of energy. However, all of this may be do to where I was in the arena. There really is nothing like being right up front.

The show began with a jolt. City of Blinding Lights was awesome and really set the tone for the whole show. There was an unexplainable excitement in the room that was shocking. The boys seemed very loose and all of them smiled throughout the whole show. Where The Streets Have No Names left the crowd stunned and exploding with cheers for quite a long time. It seemed like the band expected a reaction, but not one that kept going and going and going. Bono even commented ..."this is crazy…only in Texas." Bono's voice on Miss Sarajevo was amazing. I don't know how he does it night after night. Adding Fast Cars to the end of the show before Yahweh and 40 seemed to be a real crowd pleaser.

The great thing about this show to me was there were no lulls or slow downs of any kind---ok, maybe one when Bono had to restart All Because of You because he lost his voice for a minute. Other than that everything just clicked perfectly. And after 2 hours and 20 minutes I left with a great feeling. A truly unforgettable night.
